TEAM GHANA UNVEILS OFFICIAL HIGH-PERFORMANCE SQUAD FOR GLASGOW 2026

ACCRA, GHANA — The Commonwealth Games Association (CGA) Ghana, has officially unveiled the final high-performance athlete list for the upcoming 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland. Operating under the fierce national campaign slogan, "Team Ghana - From Ghana to Glasgow for Gold," the leadership has selected a tight contingent of elite athletes across high-yield sporting codes, abandoning large ceremonial delegations in favor of a lean squad strictly validated for podium success. This streamlined squad has received a massive logistical and financial lift ahead of their departure, having secured critical, timely institutional support from the Eezzy Group Foundation.
The tactical core of Ghana's delegation centers heavily around its combat athletes, track specialists, and an elite para-sports vanguard that guarantees absolute inclusivity on the international stage. The national boxing unit, featuring 10 top-tier fighters from both the men's Black Bombers and women's Black Hitters, enters the tournament fully acclimatized alongside a highly competitive athletics squad, powerlifters, and swimmers. On the judo mats, the nation will be represented by the dual powerhouse of Elizabeth Oduro (63kg) and Frema Agyei (57kg), with the latter being given the ultimate national honor of serving as Team Ghana's official Flag Bearer.
The strength and para-sports categories feature heavyweight powerlifter Haruna Tahiru, who has been officially named as Ghana's Baton bearer for this campaign, alongside world-class contenders like wheelchair racing speedster Nkegbe Botsyo, high jump powerhouse Rose Yeboah, and heavyweight weightlifter Forrester Osei.
