GLASGOW — Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Iddie Adams, led a high-powered delegation featuring the UK High Commissioner and top-brass Parliamentarians to deliver an unforgettable morale boost to Team Ghana during an inspiring visit to their UK training camp yesterday.

 

The high-level gathering brought together key sports leadership, diplomatic representation, and legislative oversight, with attendees including the Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Iddie Adams; Ghana’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Mrs. Zita Benson; the President of the Commonwealth Games Association, Mr. Richard Akpokavie; the Chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Sports, Hon. Norgbey Henry Ernest; Ranking Member of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Sports,Hon. Assafuah Ekow Vincent, Hon. Kobby Woyome, Head of Ghana House Project, Kassim Mohammed Muniru, Secretary General of the CGA; Team Manager Richmond Quarcoo; and Communications Director Charles Osei Asibey, alongside elite national athletes and technical handlers.

 

Addressing the fired-up contingent, Hon. Kofi Iddie Adams stressed that true victory is never achieved overnight; rather, it is forged through sweat, grit, and sacrifice long before stepping onto the competitive turf.

 

"Block out all distractions, stick together as one family, maintain unyielding discipline, and go out there to perform with the 3G Mantra," the Sports Minister charged the athletes, expressing absolute confidence in the squad's mental fortitude and raw talent to conquer Glasgow and inspire millions back home.

 

Adding her voice to the rousing words of encouragement, Ghana’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Mrs. Zita Benson, praised the deep diplomatic and cultural ties shared between the two nations, noting that sports remains the ultimate bridge builder. "We are thrilled to host you here in the UK. Our mission is your home away from home, and we are fully committed to ensuring your stay and competition here are nothing short of triumphant," Mrs. Zita Benson remarked.

The President of the Commonwealth Games Association also rallied the athletes, reminding them of the proud flag they carry. "You represent the Commonwealth's finest spirit of fair play and excellence. The Commonwealth Games Association is standing shoulder-to-shoulder with you every step of the way as you step onto the global stage," the President of the Commonwealth Games Association affirmed.

Reinforcing the total cross-institutional backing, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Sports assured the contingent of Parliament's unwavering support. "The legislature is solidly behind your preparations and welfare. Go out there with boldness and execute your routines, knowing that the entire nation's representatives in Parliament are cheering you on," stated the Chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Sports.

Stepping forward to give firm operational assurances, Team Manager Richmond Quarcoo guaranteed the visiting dignitaries that the contingent is in pristine shape and fully primed to deliver a stellar outing.

"Our athletes have put in the grueling hours, and the technical benchmarks we are seeing in camp are exceptional. I can assure leadership that Team Ghana is mentally tough, physically conditioned, and ready to put up a phenomenal, disciplined show in Glasgow," Mr. Quarcoo declared.

Echoing these sentiments, Communications Director Charles Osei Asibey expressed profound gratitude on behalf of the camp, emphasizing that the overwhelming show of solidarity has sent team morale soaring to unprecedented heights.
