Ghana gets tough 2015 All African Games draw

Black QueensGhana’s male and female national teams have been drawn against tough opposition in their respective groups for the 2015 All African Games following the draw for the tournament at CAF Headquarters in Cairo, Egypt on Thursday, 9 July 2015.

The female national team, the Black Queens, have been drawn alongside Cameroon, South Africa and Egypt in Group B.

The male national U-23 team, the Black Meteors, have been drawn against arch rivals Nigeria, Senegal and Egypt in Group B. The Meteors are the defending champions of the All African Games having won the last competition in Maputo, Mozambique.


The draw for both Men and Women’s competition was conducted by CAF General Secretary, Hicham El Amrani and assisted by Yosef Tesfaye Argaw , a member of the CAF ad hoc Organising Committee for the African Games Brazzaville 2015 and Tarig Atta, Deputy General Secretary of the Sudan Football Association.


Below are details of the draw;



Group A – Congo, Nigeria, Tanzania, Cote d’Ivoire

Group B – Cameroon, South Africa, Ghana, Egypt



Group A – Congo, Sudan, Zimbabwe, Burkina Faso

Group B – Ghana, Senegal, Egypt, Nigeria


The winners and runner up of each group will qualify for the semis, with the eventual progressing to the final.


The final tournament will be held from 3-18 September 2015 in Brazzaville, Congo.
