Ghana exits Fifa U-20 World Cup

ghana vrs maliGhana has crushed out of the Fifa U-20 World Cup after losing 3:0 to Mali at the 1/16th stage on Wednesday.

The 2009 Fifa U-20 winners started as heavy favourites after topping Group B and beating Argentina.

But Sellas Tetteh’s boys struggled in the early exchanges as they were overrun by the Malians who they defeated to clinch third place at the African Youth Championship in March.

The young Malians dominated proceedings and opened the scores through Diadie Samassekou in the 20th minute before Diedonne Gbakle and Aboubabacar Doumbia completed the rout in the second half.

Mali now advance to face either Germany or Nigeria in Christchurch.
