Ghana Olympic Committee Funds Sports Federations With ANOCA Support

The Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) has presented cheques to various Sports Federations in Ghana to support them prepare for international games.

Mr. Paul Atchoe, vice president of the GOC and president of the Volleyball Association confirmed to the media that African National Olympic Committees Associaton (ANOCA) has released some funds to sports federations in Ghana.

He disclosed that the GOC received $96, 960, and has been given to 14 Federations. He also said the GOC might be holding its annual Congress on 28th April, 2022.

According to the DOP of the GOC, Alhaji Mohammed Shaban who is Technical Director of the Cycling Association, most of the Federations affiliated have collected their cheques.

Football and Athletics got $8,000 each, while Cycling, Volleyball, Swimming, Badminton, Weightlifting, Taekwondo, Karate Do, Judo, Fencing, Table Tennis, Tennis and Boxing got $6,000 each.
