Unity Volley Ball Club Beat Pure Fitness Club In 2020 Koforidua Tug Of War Challenge
Unity Volley Ball Club pulled Pure Fitness Club twice to win the 2020 Koforidua Tug of War Challenge Cup at the famous Jackson Park.
The winners took home 1,000ghc plus a trophy and products of the sponsors of the event, while the runners up collected 700ghc and products.
Ogua Fitness Club who placed third got 500ghc and some products of the sponsors.
The Eastern Regional Community Strength Challenge which attracted the town folks was very exciting.
Akro Ako Enterprise was the sponsor of the event and they were impressed with the programme.
Puma, Ocean Spray drinks and Parle Biscuits were presented to all participating teams at the Koforidua 2020 Tug of War competition.
Mr. Emmanuel Olla Williams, CEO of Dreams Sports Plus and champion of Tug of War in Ghana said they are promoting the traditional sport and wish it would be added to the upcoiming African Games in 2023.
He said games that Ghana has comparative advantage like Ampe, Armwrestling and traditional wrestling should all be considered.
Williams who doubles as Youth Coordinator of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) commended the youth of Ghana for comporting themselves well amidst Covid-19. He urged students to be sanitation conscious and apply the health protocols.
