The proposed financial support for athletes and coaches will be signed soon.

According to the president of Ghana Olympic Committee GOC, Ben Nunoo Mensah the MOU for the YEA financial package for 1000 Ghanaian athletes and footballers will be signed on Wednesday 8th July, and hopefully the first monthly disbursement to the individual athletes will start from the end of July and subsequently for the next five months.

He said after the signing, the GOC/NPC will peel off and the MOYS/ YEA will deal directly with the National Federations.

"The support is for national team athletes who are NOT employed (especially) in any state or public institution" he stressed. .

"I will accordingly ask that all Federation heads start compiling list of such athletes in their federations, let me remind colleagues that the MOYS through the National Security will check the background as well as the employment status of every name submitted, I therefore plead with colleagues that you scrutinize the list as carefully as possible to ensure that this very laudable initiative by the GOC, NPC and the MOYS will be a huge success" he added.
