Ayew returns for Ghana vs Egypt World Cup qualifier

Andre Ayew puts Ghana aheadGhana deputy captain Andre Ayew has been named in a 23-man squad for the crunch 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Egypt on 13th November in Alexandria.

Ayew made his return to action for West Ham United vs Chelsea in the EFL Cup only week and is expected to lead the team in the absence of Captain Asamoah Gyan who has been ruled out due to injury.

There is no place for Juventus midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah while Alhassan Wakaso and Andy Yiadom have been handed debut call ups.

Ghana will need a good result to resurrect their world cup campaign after recording a disappointing goalless drawn game with Uganda in their group opener last month in Tamale. Egypt tops the group standings after coming back from a goal down to beat Congo-Brazzaville 2:1.
