Beach Volleyball may also be recommended into the games but it is still pending.

The CYG, which will feature up to 1300 athletes aged 14-18, was one of the issues on the agenda for the abortive GOC ordinary Congress on July 23rd, 2016.

It will be recalled that Ghana won its first ever gold medal in athletics at the CYG when long jumper Richard Seklorwu clinched first place in his event at the Samoa 2015 Commonwealth Youth Games.
