Popular Ghanaian boxer, Braimah Kamoko (31-1 23 KOs) stopped his opponent, Rojhat Bilgetekin (10-18 9 KOs) to win his first fight outside Ghana.

Bukom Banku as he is affectionately called dropped the German in round three at St George Hall in Bradford, UK on Saturday night.

Banku was billed to fight Ferenc Albert but the Hungarian boxer pulled out at last minute, with organizers replacing him with Bilgetekin.

Bukom Banku had lost only once to Bastie Samir in their bout at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Ghana.

The tough-talking boxer is expected to tour other parts of Europe before returning home.

The Ghanaian cruiserweight boxer and current WBO African champion, has promised to establish himself as one of Africa’s best boxers before hanging his gloves.

Braimah Kamoko aka Bukom Banku says the he would have had to face massive embarrassment had he failed to win against Ferenc Albert of Hungary on Saturday.

After the bout, he said in an interview with Asempa FM’s Eric Worlanyo Wallace that the thought of facing massive ridicule in Ghana was enough motivation to get things right in the ring.

“It was a good bout and by the Grace of God, I stopped my opponent in the third round. It was my first bout outside Ghana and I got the victory.

I had trained very hard for the bout and losing the bout would have been a disgrace to me.”

Kamoko stated the he would head to Germany and the United States where he would seek opportunities to fight for a world title.-citisports
