Ghana’s Tennis duo George Darko and Wisdom Na – Adjrago have won Gold medal in the Men’s Doubles finals in the All African Games after defeating Team DR.Congo 6-4, 6-4  at the Massamba Debat court on Thursday.

The final match  had to be postponed on Wednesday to the next day due to poor visibility at the Massamba Debat court when Team Ghana was leading 1-0 after winning the first set 6-4.

On Thursday morning, the Ghanaian double went on to win the second set 6-4 bringing the match to an automatic end to clinch the first gold medal and 17th overall medal for Team Ghana in the ongoing 2015 All African Games in Brazzaville.

“We first have to thank God for bringing us this far. We did not finish the game yesterday and we have to come to end it today and its the same spirit that we had today. The Congolese were a bit tired yesterday but they came out much stronger today but we were determined to win.I don’t know whether to cry or smile. Its great feeling ” George Darko told after the Gold medal winning performance in Brazzaville.

“I thank the team for this medal.I also thank the coach and the other officials. They have all supported us. We were determined to do it just like Darko said. ” Wisdom added.
