Atchoe retains position as GVA president

Mr. Paul Atchoe, Vice President of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) has retained his position as the President of the Ghana Volleyball Association (GVA), in an election, held at the Media Center of the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday March 9, 2019.

He polled 12 votes as against nine, by his closest rival, Edward Owusu representing the Ghana Armed Forces.

Mr. George Tetthe was voted as the Vice President, with 13 votes, as against Mr. Pearce Person who had eight votes, whilst with Edem Dotse went unopposed to become the Treasurer.

Messrs Iddrisu Bawa, Asruday, James Attoh, Akor Adu Sam and James Fodjour Kojo were voted as Executive Members.

The position of the General Secretary would be an appointee of the National Sports Authority (NSA).

Paul Atchoe said he has put Ghana Volleyball on the international scene and promised to do more.

Under his reign, Ghana Volleyball has moved from 40th position to 9th in Africa, and the Ghana Beach Volleyball team have gone to international Games and performed well.

He is also Chef Du Mission for Team Ghana at Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
