GTTA to organise All Africa Games selection tourney

William AsareThe Ghana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) is set to organise an exciting tournament dubbed, Top 16, to select players for the All Africa Games.

This follows the successful completion of the Table Tennis League last Saturday at the Accra Sports stadium. William Asare of the Ghana Revenue Authority (Customs Division) defeated second seed and highly- fancied Felix Lartey of Ghana Immigration 3-0 in the final decider of the league.

Asare, a graduate of the University of Cape Coast, has been a consistent performer for Customs throughout the league, winning tight duels for his side.

In an interview with the Daily Graphic, the President of the GTTA Mawuko Afadzinu revealed that a special tourament will be organised in the coming week to select a team for the 2015 All Africa Games.

He hailed the exploits of Asare and also congratulated the other participants for the performancse in the competition and also disclosed that the association would soon launch a big sponsorship deal for next season's league.
