GBF organises All African Games Special Exercise

IMG_0773The Ghana Boxing Federation has started the first part of their selection process for the 2015 All African Games with a “Special Selection Exercise” at the Accra Sports stadium.

The programme started on Thursday 4th June and is expected to come to an end on Tuesday 9th June.

The bouts brought the best out of the boxers on display who wanted to stake a claim in the national amateur team, the Black Bombers ahead of the Congo-Brazzaville Games.

Earlier in the competition, national boxers such as Abdul Wahid Omar (bantamweight), Jesse Lartey(Light weight), Azumah Mohammed(Light Welter weight), Musah Rahman Lawson(Welterweight), Sulemanu Tetteh(Fly weight), David Akankolim Bawa (heavyweight), among others were called into action.

The national boxers came up against very determined boxers who were keen on making a mark in the ring to gain qualification to the 2015 All African Games.

But in most cases, the hugely experienced national boxers made it to the finals of their respective weight categories.

The finals of the various weight categories are set to take place on Tuesday afternoon at the Accra Sports stadium.
