GOC meets Presidents of Federations to discuss sports development

GOC meets NFSIn the spirit of friendship, solidarity and mutual understanding, the leadership of the GOC has today held a meeting with Presidents of National Federations (NF) to discuss pertinent issues bordering on sports development in the country.

The meeting discussed issues of mutual concern among the nation’s sports associations (apart from football) who have struggled to secure funding for their programmes following a freeze on government funding since 2012.

Among other things, the federation heads discussed funding of sports, preparations towards the 2015 All Africa Games, the GOC’s Courses and programs under the Olympic Solidarity for the year and the Rio Olympics.

This forms part of the GOC’s goal of engaging NF’s to share ideas on common challenges that confront them and seeking ways to resolve them.
