GOC President Urge Companies To Support Ghana Sports

Ben Nunoo Mensah, President of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) has urged companies to support sporting activities in Ghana, and especially invest in sports infrastructure which becomes a legacy and inspiration for current and future generations.

In his New Year Message, he stressed that 2020 is an Olympic Year and Team Ghana would be represented at the Tokyo Games in Japan.

According to the GOC President, Ghanaian companies must support sports as a corporate social responsibility and investment into saving lives.

He expressed that supporting sportsmen and women is divine, graceful and rewarding, apart from the publicity and mileage to be attracted.

He was sad that the Black Meteors and the Black Queens could not qualify in football, but hoped that the weightlifters, athletes, boxers and karatekas and judokas would make it.

“It’s good to be represented at the Olympic Games, but it’s better to win a medal and have your national anthem played, that is why we need more support from corpotate Ghana to go and win” he said.

Ben Nunoo Mensah who is also president of the Ghana Weightlifting Federation (GWF) said investing in the least financed and para sports in rewarding because they are always potential medal hopes.
