The Ghana Olympic Committee would like to remind Ghanaian journalists that media accreditation for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games is open.
The accreditation has been categorised into two: written and photographic press (“E”) and non-rights holding radio/television organisations (“ENR”).
Media professionals can send one expression of interest per outlet that outlines the number and categories of accreditations requested.
The accreditation process for non-rights holding radio/television organisations will be managed directly by the IOC via https://secure.registration.olympic.org/en/accred/Rio2016
The IOC will directly grant ENR accreditation to a limited number of radio and television organisations who do not own rights to broadcast the Olympic Games.
Applications are available between 5 February and 1 April 2015. Due to the limited number of accreditations available in this category, application deadlines will be strictly observed.
Meanwhile, written and photographic press wishing to apply for accreditation for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games should kindly send their applications to firstname.lastname@example.org by 20th March, 2015.
The GOC will apply strict selection criteria to allocate the limited accreditations.
The selection criteria will include the following: national scope in coverage (agencies), readership and circulation (regional coverage or large dailies), previous history in attending and covering Olympic Games, geographical representation and linguistic equity.
The GOC expects to complete the allocation of print media accreditations by the end of April 2015 and will notify successful applicants by email.
