Ghana will be taking part in the first ever 2019 African Beach Games in Cape Verde with four disciplines.

The disciplines are karate do kata, beach volleyball, free style football and basketball

Edmund Asante Amoako who is going for Karate do Kata says he is going for the ultimate after he missed gold recently in Abidjan at the West African championship.

He said the first Beach Games in Africa is historic, and to be chosen to represent Ghana is a great feat, so he can not afford to lose to his opponent. He confidently said the sky will be his starting point, and he is going all out to pull surprises and put the name of Ghana high.

President of Ghana Karate Federation, Melvin Brown believes his athlete has what it takes to win gold or at least a bronze.

“My boy has prepared well and we are very sure he will reach the medal zone” he expressed.

He thanked the president of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), Ben Nunoo Mensah and companies like Margins ID and Intercity STC  that have supported karate do over the period as well as Mr. Moses Baiden aka Legend in Ghana karate do and Nana Akomea.

He also appealed to the media to promote the martial arts to encourage more youth and kids to participate in the sport of karate do.

We wish him all the best.
