Joseph Amoah - the first Ghanaian to qualify for Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games

Joseph Amoah has officially become the FIRST Ghanaian athlete to qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics!!

Accoeding to the Ghana Athletics Association (GAA) his time of 20.20 (0.4) is the fastest 200m time for a Ghanaian sprinter in 24 years.

Earlier in the same day he ran a PB of 10.18 (1.2) in the MEAC Championship final.

Athletics fans are looking forward to seeing Joe not only at the upcoming World's in Doha, but also at the 2020 Olympics.

The much tougher 2020 standard is 0.26 secs faster than that for Rio 2016 i.e., 20.24 secs vs 20.50 secs. The IAAF qualification window for athletics is from May 1st, 2019 through June 29th, 2020.
