Ghana Wins 3 Medals At Nigeria Taekwondo Open


The Ghana Taekwondo Federation (GTF) won three medals (2 silver and 2 bronze) at the just ended 1st Nigeria Taekwondo International Open championships in Abuja.

The Athletes and Coach who represented Ghana for Nigeria Open were Addo Benson: -58kg, Henrietta Armah: -49kg, Eunice Adedapo: -49kg, Kerzia Elemawusi: -46kg and coach Augustus Agbozo.

Benson lost at quarter finals to Nigerian Hamad Lawan in the Quarter finals stages of the male -58kg. Kezia Gbedze lost at semifinals in the female -46kg to Nigeria Commonwealth Games Champion Esuku Josephine. Eunice Adedapo won against Nada Aziz of Niger in the quarter finals of the female -49kg. Henrietta Armah also won against Iba Landy of Nigeria in the female -49kg.


Eunice lost against Henrietta at the semifinal of the female -49kg. Henrietta lost at the finals to Ivory Coast once Grand Prix participant Couilbaly Bouma. Augustus Kwame Agbozo was their Coach. Over 150 Athletes from 16 countries participated in the 3 day event.


The medal winners were - Kezia, Bronze Medal, *Eunice, Bronze Medal,  and Henrietta, Silver Medal.
