Ashfoam Pledges To Sponsor GOC In 2019

Ashfoam, the leading foam products manufacturing company in Ghana has pledged to sponsor the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) in 2019.

The Communications Manager of Ashfoam Ghana, Nana Yaw Ampen Darko held an important meeting with the President, Vice president and some members of the GOC Communications team to finalise ways to support and promote Ghana Sports in 2019, as the various national teams plan and prepare for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games as well as other championships.

According to Nana Yaw, his outfit is interested in youth development and their corporate social responsibility is the support the youth of Ghana to become progressive, dynamic and unique, so the company wishes to see other sports develop like football, hence they are not interested in supporting football, but the other sports disciplines like boxing, swimming, volleyball, badminton, cycling, table tennis, handball, kickboxing, basketball, tennis, hockey, fencing, judo, taekwondo, karate do and others.

He said not everybody loves football though it is the passion of the nation, however football has not won anything significant, or brought any glory after all the financial investments.

He assured the GOC of total support with the provision of kits for Team Ghana, like branded training shoes, bags, track suits and tee shirts.

The GOC President thanked Ashfoam who in 2018 aided the Youth Olympic team while they participated in the Buernos Aires 2018, and appealed for support to put the Amasaman (OlympiAfrica) sports complex project into shape.

He proposed the organization of annual sports competitions among schools in the area, and a gala for the communities around the project site.

Mr Mensah also hinted that the GOC was also close to securing similar deals with Vitalmilk, Twellium Industries and Indomie to become the official beverage sponsor and meal sponsors of the GOC.

Meanwhile, the GOC has strengthened its Communications team with the addition of personalities like Baaba Tandoh of MultiMedia as Deputy Press Officer and Kobby Jones as Deputy Communications Director (Radio), Sammy Heywood Okine (Online / Social Media) and Maxwell Asabre (PA).
