Buenos Aires, Septemeber 17. With 19 days to go until the start of Buenos Aires 2018, the Organising Committee has already received more than 500,000 requests for the Youth Olympic Pass, the electronic bracelet that will let fans participate in the biggest multisport and cultural celebration on the planet.

On Monday, September 17, pass requests reached 516,311 among the general public and educational institutions. A total of 180,000 bracelets have already been picked up - the majority in the designated Samsung Stores.

The Pass, which is free, gives access to the four Youth Olympic Parks and the stand alone venues at the Games.

The bracelet contains a chip that will let spectators enjoy watching the best 4,000 young athletes on the planet perform in the competition stadiums. They will also be able to participate in a true cultural party: there will be more than 1,200 activities for the public to enjoy in the Parks.

The registrations to date include those from public and private schools, in addition to the general public.

The Parks and the stadiums will have limited capacity to guarantee that the first Olympic celebration in Argentina is an unforgettable one. For that reason, a first come, first served system will be implemented, giving preference to those who arrive at the venues first.

The bracelets are mandatory to enter the Parks and stadiums. Spectators from other parts of Argentina and abroad will be able to pick up their Pass upon arrival in Buenos Aires.

In the case of families, one person can register up to three other family members. In all cases, a third party can be authorised to pick up the passes.

With 32 sports on the programme, Buenos Aires 2018 will be the first Olympic edition with gender equality.

In addition to the competitions, the Youth Olympic Park will also be the stage for a historic cultural celebration with 800 educational activities and 468 sport initiation activities.
