Ghana Black Stars Get Set For Victory Against Sudan

Ghana’s Black Stars are battle ready for the AFCON Qualifier against Sudan on Thursday in Cape Coast, though there would be no much spectators to cheer them, as CAF has directed that the match should be played behind closed doors.

They have had successful training sessions at the stadium with coach C. K. Akonnor directing affairs and planning how to handle the Sudanese with the assistace if coach David Duncan.

The full Black Stars set has been faced with injuries and others testing positive to Covid-19, but many Ghanaians are optimistic that they will get a good result despite missing star players like Kudus Mohammed of Ajax and Thomas Partey of Arsenal who are out due to injury.

However, with assistant captain Orlando Pirates’ goalkeeper Richard Ofori joining the squad alongside some players who have not been with the team for some time, all look set to go.

The full list:

Goalkeepers: Richard Ofori, Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Razak Abalora

Defenders: John Boye, Baba Abdul Rahman, Kwadwo Amoako, Christopher Nettey, Alexander Djiku, Joseph Aidoo, Joseph Attamah, Nicholas Opoku

Midfielders: Emmanuel Lomotey, Afriyie Acquah, Clifford Aboagye

Strikers/Forwards: Jordan Ayew, Andre Ayew, Tariqe Fosu, Samuel Owusu, Caleb Ekuban, John Antwi.

After the Cape Coast match, the team will travel to play in Khartoum three days later for the reverse tie.
